Bangladeshi Abul Hasan has become only the second debutant to make century batting at No.10 in Test cricket history, and the first in 110 years.

No.10 batsman Abul Hasan notched a debut century to help Bangladesh recover to 8-365 on the opening day of the second and final cricket Test against the West Indies in Khulna on Wednesday.

The 20-year-old Hasan's achievement was last completed by Australian Regie Duff in 1902.

Hasan ended unbeaten on 100 after adding an invaluable 172 with Mohammad Mahmudullah (72) to help the home team, which won the toss, fight back from a shaky 8-193.

Fast bowler Fidel Edwards finished with 5-81.

West Indies lead the two-Test series 1-0 following their 77-run win in last week's first Test in Dhaka.
